This is a sister all-inclusive hotel to the adjoining Club Amigo Mayanabo, with little to choose between them. Here, however, the accommodations – built in the 1970s and still infused with an outdated '70s feel – are in two-story fourplex units rather in the large lateral blocks of the Mayanabo. It, too, benefitted from a refurbishment in 2003... but this hotel quiet clearly is ready for another face-lift. Some guests might consider its three-star billing to be overly generous. It appeals mainly from a budget-minded Canadian and European market arriving almost exclusively on package vacations.

Amenities here include a paltry gym and watersports such as Hobi-Cats and aqua-bikes. Nightlife here isn't on a par with the slightly more upscale Hotel Brisas Santa Lucía, nearby, and guests here tend to fend for themselves. The two restaurants are also ho-hum.

The modestly furnished accommodations have up-to-date fixtures in bathrooms, but standards vary room to room due to poor construction. But as with the Mayanabo, low-quality mattresses and pillows are a major drawback, and the spreads and bed linens are weary and in need of replacement.
